Instructions for Removing & Replacing Duplex Spring

  • Unscrew the quick detach sleeve from the outer duplex spring using two pairs of pliers at A & B turning counterclock wise, this will show the slotted shaft.
  • Unscrew the slotted shaft by clasping the holding collar with a pair of pliers and using the other plier’s clasp the slotted shaft and turning counterclockwise.
  • Remove the holding collar by unscrewing the set screw
  • Unscrew the outer duplex spring by clasping C with a pair of pliers and using another pliers clasp the backend of thehandpiece and turning counterclockwise, this step will show the duplex spring and it’s attachment to the handpiece andwhat is wrong with the spring.
  • Remove the duplex spring using the small needle nose pliers by placing it between the handpiece and duplex springand prying up, but if you see two flat spot there, then clasp the shaft with the needle nose and using another pliersclasp the spring and turn counterclockwise to remove.
  • Remove the axle from the spring use a pin through the hole in the axle and the pliers on the spring and turn counter clockwise out.
  • To install duplex spring follow procedure in the following step #6, #5, and #4 but push while turning counterclockwise.
  • Be sure duplex spring is all the way in to the shoulder of the axle and the shoulder of the hanpiece.
  • Apply a light film of grease part No. (134.345) to the duplex spring and two drops of oil
    Part No. (134.343) to the axle.
  • To complete the assembly follow the rest of thea procedure in the following step #3, #2, and #1.
  • Attach handpiece to your flex cable and run at low speed to spread lubrication for a minute or two.
