Step 1

1. Insert blunt end of stem into long end of
barrel, leaving point of stem exposed.

Step 2

2. Slide spring on to blunt end of stem now in barrel, sliding spring into the barrel.

Step 3

3. Apply soft solder paste or liquid flux and a small plug of tin solder to open end of sleeve.

Step 4

4. Slide sleeve over stud stem and apply necessary heat, being careful to avoid overheating and damage to spring.
